Today i have ordered my new yellow ibiza cupra. I am very happy, though it wasn't good to see that SEAT is seriously cutting down equipments from base and offering almost everything as an extra.... I'll get auto AC, rain sensing and comfy window closers over the base for ~12000GBP. The expected delivery time is november.

Luckily i have found a dealer which is 100% modification friendly, they've already offered me the 210 BHP conversion http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif which i will of course carry out after this winter.

I'll get white rims and full WRC sticker design too for free ("REPSOL" replaced to the name of the dealer). I have already seen one and it looks amazig. Can't wait! Will be hard to be patient http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

Ummm, when I ordered my Cupra I enquired about a CD changer and was told 'it comes as standard on the Cupra' by the dealer!!!!

Maybe he made a balls up and has accidently gave one away for free or maybe I've just been a jammy git!
I'm paying list price for the car (£12995)

Is a changer standard? I'm getting very curious about this subject regarding standard/deleted equipment and I'm wondering what actally I'm going to get in 3 weeks time.

Nope, the CD changer is 'not' standard. Iwas going to be charged £350 for one, I think not!!! I will have to look out for a cheap bargain CD changer from somewhere.

Think I can put a Panasonic job on it for about £120. Anyone got any make and price ideas???

Whats all this about white wheels, rain sensors and window closer things???

Well, SEAT seems to be going wild. As i previously wrote, they got out lots of stuff which they gave in the list price before.

For example, there were TCS in the cupra, but it is no option anymore (at least here). You can order the ESP (for ~700 GBP) which i did not order, so now i won't have TCS, just plain ABS and EDL (electronic differential). I don't really care, because i didn't have such things in my life before so i bet i won't miss them.

I think these "comfy window closers" came as standard too (not sure tho'), but i had to pay extra for them now. This pulls up windows when you close the car with the remote control or even with the keys. It was ~60 GBP, so why not order when getting the car of my dreams http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif.

The white cupra rims will be a present of the dealer along with the WRC design.

Auto AC did cost me ~1000 GBP.

Ah, yes forgot the rain sensor. That also was cheap (in my opinion) around 90 GBP and may be fun. That's all why i ordered it.

I also was seriously thinking on the CD changer, but i think they sell it very expensive and i am not convinced about the SEAT one (bumpy roads overe here). I am very "Clarion" biased (they seem to be extremely bump proof) so i'll get a converter plug and a Clarion changer later on.

Cupra Kid, I was quoted 350 for a changer from Listers in Coventry. I took the car to Amethyst to Darren and he fitted it for 235 all in including the bracket and fitting. It seems to perform well and doesn't jump.

Bill,

Yeah it is, but those guys in Europe get the opportunity for more extras than we do over here.

The windows do close if you hold the key in the lock position. It doesn't work off of the remote control though. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/frown.gif
However we obviously get TCS as standard and it seems Hungarian ones don't.
Left hookers had ESP as well at one point, I think that we couldn't have over here due to a lack of space in the engine bay.

Oh and we can't specify full leather as an option whereas you could in Europe.

Cheers
Andy

Why do we always seem to get less than Europe? Stiffed on prices and get less to chose from. Can't be a right hand drive thing, as what would that have to do with the bits missing of our options list...

Windows on the key eh? Sounds nice. My Audi does that, and the alarm I had fitted to it interfaced to the factory total closure off the key which was very cool - off the remote. I'll miss that if I've got to use the key! Almost forgotten what to do with those things for getting in/out of a car!

Well, the only thing which pisses me off is the TCS thing. They actually had TCS in the cupras standard before (here, too), but no TCS for the new ones in the future. They make (force) you to buy the full ESP as TCS is not an option anymore for us (only for the 110BHP TDI in which it is standard).

Then i don't know anything about the seats. I did not specify full leather, now i am wondering if i'll get half leather or no leather at all.

Still some open questions for which i'll get the answers when picking the car up in 3 months time... http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/rolleyes.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/rolleyes.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/rolleyes.gif

Bill,

The only thing I think they said we couldn't have was ESP as the RHD conversion meant there wasn't space for the electronic gubbins. Why I don't know. As for everything else though?

Yeah, trouble is I'm so used to remote locking, standing there for having to use the key for 30 seconds is a complete drag. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

I tried holding down the remote button but they don't close. Saying that, I don't open the windows anyway, just whack the Climate on now and stay lovely and cool. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

I expect you'll get the half leather as standard here. The full leather was an option. Comedy Si has it on his imported (from Amsterdam I think) Ibiza. He didn't pay too much for it either.

And what do you think about the colour of the interiour? I had no options to choose from. I'll get a yellow car, so i hope the interior will be full black.

Yep, full leather as an option, cost about 140 pounds sterling as an option for full vs. half leather as standard. It's nice, but you gotta look after it...mine gets saddle preparation every 2 weeks, or it'll crack like buggery!

I've got a feeling that the yellow comes with the same grey seats that my Silver one came with.

Bill,

Oh and to follow this up coz I tested it last night before getting into the worlds hottest car (it had been parked in the sun all day), as Zboyd mentioned about the Leon, if you unlock the car with the key and hold it the windows will open for you.

Cheers

Just need to get an alarm to interface to these goodies to get full remote access.
i have a friend who installs ICE and alarms professionally so will likely give him a bell and see what he can do. We managed to interface my Audi's totalclosure system to the Autowatch alarm without having to buy the total closure options.
Where there's a will there's a way.

Got a confirmation that my order was accepted (didn't even know that they use to reject orders). Though, the delivery time won't be shorter than 12-14 weeks...
