Hi,
I`ve got a problem with my `95 Ibiza GTi.

The problem is that my rev counter keeps dieing on me and it will then randomly start working again.
This happened with my speedo about a year ago, but the speedo eventually ceased working completely. When i took the
car to the garage to get the speedo fixed they said it was just a loose connection and fixed it in around 5 minutes.

The problem is my local seat garage say they can not fix the rev counter unless it completely stops working, as they can not determine the problem. The bloody thing keeps packing in, but as soon as its booked into the garage it starts working again, and it`s driving me mad!

Can anyone help!!!

Cheers

This is a guess based on experience of my 16v VW. Check the earths around the engine for being intact. If you spot any detached wires which would have been on tags, that might be it.
I have experienced this on my own 16v VW historically.
good luck

I had the same problem with a Cordoba 1.6 y.m. 1995.

Took her to a specialist dealing with such things. He took out the whole counters board and re-soldered all the connections. End of problem! Cost me about 35 pounds.
