Hi all,

Currently ive got an old battered 205 GTI. Give it 2months i should (hopefully) be the proud owner of a Seat Ibiza Cupra (R?). Having had the the Mk2 in the past, i know its another Seat that i want. Just need some (Lots!) advice really. The main thing is tuning!!! Im not really fussed how the car sounds / looks at first, its just the performance. Firstly whats better value for money, the Cupra or Cupra R? Are there any other diiferences apart from the Brembo brakes and the extra 30 or so BHP? Beacuse cant the standard 150bhp just be tuned to about 200bhp for about £500? Thus saving you loads on insurance and the cost. Looks like the Cupra R's are around £2000 more than a regular second hand Cupra? Please let me know, any help would be great help!!

Now heres the bit where i sound dumb.I know bu@@er all about tuning to be honest. My knowledge goes about as far as an induction kit!

If anyone has time here the stuff id be really greatful to know.

KN04? what are these / do / cost / BHP ?
Re-mapping? what are these / do / cost / BHP ?

People often go on about BAR 1.5 etc. What is this? The boost? How does this work?

What the best and most practical way to get about 250 BHP from the standard 1.8T cupra, with out having to change the gear box / clutch etc? And also how much would this cost? £2000+?

And finally who are the best company to go for, to help with tuning a seat (Currently in South England)

I know all this is alot to ask but answers to any of the above would be really helpfull!!

Cheers,Kieron

basically

cupra r has 180bhp over the std cupra's 156bhp, this is only an ECU thing and not mechanical, when remapped both cars will produce the same amount of power.

cupra r has brembos, stiffer/sportier suspension than the cupra and also red seat belts and a cupra r badge and 16" super t's (with a different offset making the front track 6mm wider)

thats about it
