View Full Version : 4Bar FPR
I currently have a Leon Cupra that has been re-mapped to 215bhp, would a 4bar FPR be any benefit to me keeping the mapping I already have, or would I need another re-map after fitting one? Is this idea a total waste of time?
Ta....
You would definitely need another remap!

What actuallly does the 4bar fuel pressure regulator do to get power and torque gains?
Sie G
Nothing. It will add ~15% more fuel on the same injector duty cycle (than 3 bar). It is just a possibility to squeeze out a bit more out of the car. 4bar FPR is not needed for the leons, except when the mapping requires it (injectors are kept opened for shorter time, just exactly by 15% so they wont work on 90%+ duty cycle).

Sim's spot on... the 4 bar FPR in itself does nothing other than allow the tuner to extract more power/torque without the injectors running out...

Hey Brend,
I just got the 'reply to post' notification and got very confused with you saying you wanted one... must of missed you buying a Leon!
No it doesn't cause any problems, it's not difficult to do though... only takes a couple of minutes so you could do it there!

got it just under two months ago kev, going like a goodun but because the suspension is different to the cordy at say, 70mph when you accelerate there isnt the same feeling of shove-in-the-back, plus ive had a couple of just about win motorway events wher i thought the leon should have walked very easily away. (16v 2.2 astra coupe and 205 brake celica gt4 though the gt4 driver reckoned id have walked away on the straights)
hoping to get the motor revod on the 20th next month, there are a couple of us over here looking it done, i take it there isnt much leeway on discounts?

Nice... once you've software on you shouldn't have those kind of problems. Seems like all the original Cordy crew have gone 20vt, you, Jase, Pete... I'm looking to get a road car so I can take the Ibiza off the road for longer periods of time to do work to her... actually looking at Cordies!
Discount is at the dealers perogative... have a chat with you're nearest one if there's a few of you! As you say though, it's unlikely there'll be much leeway.
Seems like we'll have to organise a big track event to warrant you bringing the Leon over then! ; )

:) sounds like a plan would need to be well into next year though.
oh for got to say, ahad a run with one of the fellas looking revod in his new cupra 160bhp ibiza, twas a rolling start and to be honest there wasnt anything in it, we were seesawing with gearchanges and he was in front of me when we both decided to floor it with me catching him but only went half a car length in front after about 500 yds.
Kev,
Do you happen to know what are the downsides of running injectors at 100% (mines running 100% above 5k). Accoring to my "simple mind" maybe it is better to keep them always opened rather than pulsing @ 97%? What's the truth?

heat.........
heat? the coil (in it) is getting hotter? may be an answer between 80% and 100% but i dont think there's much of difference (in heat) between 95% and 100%.

solenoid switched permanantly on gets hot..
maybe gets more sluggish as it gets too hot...
Either way, the stock ibiza injectors are too small :\

Thats why I run Porsche ones!
I'm considering the TT225 380cc-s. How big are those porsche ones? Are they a direct fitment?
