Can anyone help me, im trying to find a way to fit and aftermarket stereo to my ibiza Cupra 1.8t it has the stereo built into the climate control thing and was wondering how i would go about changing it to a descent one..... Thanks in advance JOE
that makes two of us Joe but short of sending away half your dash to Fn Spain there's not a lot you can do .
You could always mount the face of your stereo in the sun visor ( Hi DaveMcGo ) and the rest of the unit in the boot or glove box but to do that takes either a lot of time and skill or just a lot of money :p

The problem is that the aircon controls are actually built in to the HU in the dash. You have to take appart the box and fish out the bits that are needed.
I haven't done one yet as I have a Cordoba but I expect someone will trust me with their car to try it eventually... hehehe

Yeah if someone wish's to appoint them self's as the offical Go between for the Uk and take ownership of each unit I would be prepared to spend an extra £20 to get it converted.
I was chatting to Pete at the track day, He is looking for a guinniepig (arn't you Pete).

That's right mate.
I'm no pro but I've been into ICE for the past 6 years and like to think I know a thing or two... ;) ;)
Basically I'll have a go at anything but where most people see the Ibiza dash as a problem I see it as a challenge.. :D :D

Hey, now there's a idea....'Challenge CordobaPete' you could go around in a helicopter looking for people with unique ICE problems to fix.....In a later series, there could be another person trying to stop you, leaning out another helicopter with a megaphone shouting things like...'Oooohhhh! that'll invalidate your warrantee' and you'll need these parts but they won't arrive for a year'....but then that helicopter wouldn't work anymore because it was permanently in for an 'intermittent fault'......
Pills? yes, i'll keep taking them...

Probably gonna start buying bits next month, anyone had experience of the autoacoustics shelf? Is it worth it?

Anyway....yes I have an autoacoustics shelf.....nicely put together apart from a few bit on the wrong sides (easiliy switched over after a quick call to autoacoustics)....seemed a little dissapointed to start with...but then realised I had trapped a part of the rubber of one speaker when attaching to shelf....sorted now and really impressed!! (no commission - honest).
Anyway, to summerise :
1. Get the stealth shelf (rather than the pro thingy)
2. Makes your hothatch into a hotspeaker enclosure!
3. Tis made well....they will cut out correct sze holes for you.
I'll post a piccy in a min for you (shelf currently out of car)
