Hi Guys,

I have uprated Kenwood speakers in the standard door apertures in my car, the trouble is they create an awfull vibration on the door panels at higher volumes. What is the best way to cure this problem?? Have any of you had similar issues??

Also I was wanting to uprate the dash tweeters, are they wired directly into the head unit?? Or do they go through a cross over, I know the original has a little filter built into it. Cheers Guys.

Oh, how do you check if your speakers are in phase?? (apart from the fact that they will sound shit if they are out)??

Cheers

Rattling can be solved by adding some sound proofing and by making sure the panel is fixed securely.

What did you put in the doors if you didn't get tweeters?

The wires from the HU goes to the tweeters and then from there to the mids in the doors. You'll see four wires on the connector for the tweeters, two from the HU and two to go to the doors.

Cheers,

Where would you soundproof?? The whole of the back of the door card or just around the speaker aperture?? What would you use for this?? Dynamat?? I have priced it in halfords and it costs a fortune!!! Is there a cheaper mail order place or anything?

My door spealkers are kenwood 2 ways from Halfords !! :-) !!

Also is it worth re - wiring the speaker wires in the car with my own?? Will it make a difference over the factory wiring?

Cheers Guys.

dynamat is,nt the only make on the market as far as sound deadening is concerned but it is the best so expect to pay that little bit more for it in the first place
when sound deadening you try and cover the large flat areas
of your car a good place to start would be the front doors
you dont do the cards but the actual door panel itself
try buying a roll of dynamat extreme and use it on both the front doors i would normally use a full roll on each door but it is expensive
cut the sheet into pieces about 12" x 6" strips and go for the areas that are flat or not supported very well
make sure the panels are very clean when you put the stuff on
clean them with meths first then apply the sheet
you can also use a heatgun on the material to make it stick even better and then roll the material on with a wallpaper roller
