Hi everyone

Anyone got any tips on how to de-badge without making a complete mess?

I want to remove the PASSAT and TDI badges from the back and get a 1.9 TDi badge from the Audi.
My last car was done by the sprayshop but they didn't tell me how they did it.

Cheers all!!

You will need a hairdryer (not a paint stripper gun!!!), a bit of fishing line and some alcohol cleaning wipes (wet ones or similar)

warm up the badge with the hairdryer
slide the fishing line (while pulling it tight) down the back of the badge to get it off
remove left over gluey stuff with wipes

sorted...

no idea if that'd work, but it'd be what I'd try first.

If that fails just get a hammer and chissel

When I took some off mine;

1) Boiled Kettle,
2) Poured hot water over badges,
3) Pulled badges off,
4) A bit of polish to remove residue.

Dental Floss works just as well ;)

You don't even have to warm the badges up, if you don't mind using a bit of elbow grease to get the remnants of the glue off !! ;)

If you're confident, you can use paint thinners or brush cleaner to get the glue off ;) Just remember not to leave it on too long, and to throughly wash it off with mater afterwards... ;)

Drive infront of a twit in an Astra...approach roundabout, come to a smooth stop, wait for the impact from behind.

Wait 7 weeks for insurance company & bodyshop to sort it out.

Go to bodyshop just before young apprentice about to stick letters on back..I almost got a Seat N O E L (very seasonal, but people will just snigger any other time of the year)..tell young apprentice just put the cupraR bit on..

Drive off...easy.

If you heat up the badge enough it will just pull off if you get the corner of a CC behind it.

The adhesive left behind will then just pull off in one go. If you get it hot enough.

should be fine the way I debaded was to use piece of fishing wire/ string to cut off the badge and then used -Autoglym tar/bug remover to clean the area and get rid of rest of the glue/spunge tape
