Today right after the weekly car wash, I noticed that the outside temperature display showed 28.5C AND THEN jumped to 25C and stays there not moving anymore! The temperature in Israel today is 35C !!!

What happened to the sending unit? where is it located? have the water soaked it? is the problem in the Autoclimate? could it be the "limp mode" of the Autoclimate?

Please help! what to do? what to check?

the sensor is located in the bottom of the left hand mirror (a little black plastic part that sticks out of the bottom of the mirror)

It is probably the sensor that is faulty or water contaminated.

Thanks Sweeny!

I saw it! is there anything that i can do or should i go to the garage? is it possible to get to it from the outside or will they have to dismantle the mirror?

The Autoclimate is connected to it?

I solved the problem!

The temperature sensor is a termistor. The microcomputer reads its resistance values and translates it to temperature values. The water must have contaminated the termistor and the microcomputer kept showing the last resistance reading. I have decided to give the termistor a "shock treatment" to restart the resistance reading, so i have immersed it's tip in hot water! Immediatly it began to work and it works just fine for more than 15 hours!! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif
