Anyone care to offer me a little advice on the fitting of a free-flow air filter to my 1.6 Cordoba SX.

A long, long time ago I piddled around with my Mk1. Golf and had a K&N sitting proudly on top of my carburator, making the most obscene sucking noises.

I want to hear that noise again.

For some reason, my Corboba sounds even beefier than my Leon 20VT did ... the Leon must have had a really shocking exhaust note.

Oh yes - had the car for six days now ; it's bloody good fun to drive :)

Personally I think K&N are shite, get yerself a pipercross filter from sjbsport, if aya have the extra dosh get the samco hose that fits it .. about £80 for the hose.Give about 5 extra bhp and the sucking noise really loud.... like a ***** going down on a horse.oh er!

I have come across the BMC air filter, it's very good. From Italy and used by some F1 teams. Worth to try one.

I've got a Jetex induction kit (brought from SJB Sport) fitted to my 1.6 Cordy and its the tits, sounds nice and "seems" to have given the car an extra 6.5 bhp on its own.

See dyno and pics in sig for more info.
