steering wheel removal

Hi ya all!!

Does/has any one removed their steering wheel with airbag and replaced it with standard sports type steering wheel?

is this an easy job or would I need to go to a 'professional'??:eek:

the airbag is held in with two allen bolt's (i think the later cars use butterfly type clips, i know the beeza's do)

take these out and then pull the airbag out, u need 2 disconect the plug in the back of the airbag aswell. then it's just a matter of using a socket 2 undo the wheel and take it off, being carefull of the ring behind it. wouldn't advise doing it personally no mater how ugly the wheel is it's there 4 a reason :)

ps DONT FORGET 2 DISCONECT THE BATTERY B4 U START. and when u unplug the airbag the warning light will come on when u re-conect the battery so it will need resetting on a vag computer.
