I have posted in the amethyst section asking about this, but I know they are probably busy so thought I would throw it open to everyone, incase someone already knows the answer.
I previously posted about the K&N Filter for the Ibiza Cupra (2001)....
Well..
They rang me this morning, and want to confirm the part number of the original stock air filter and if possible the dimensions of it..
They can then apparently ensure they give me the right one this time, and they cna also add it to their catalogue.
So, I ask if anyone already knows the part number? Knows the dimensions? or has time to go and take the top off their airbbox and find out for me I would be very grateful, as I a) am very busy in the office and have no time to take the airbox apart, and b) have very little ability in mechanics and taking the airbox apart could well take me a great deal of time, so isn't a very ptractical solution. lol
So, all assistance appreciated..
Regards
don't know dimensions but part no is 6K0129620B fits 20vt , tdi and a few others i think.

Roly: you are a star... I assume that is the Ibiza 20vt and not the Leon 20vt.. ?? as I believe the air boxes in those two cars are different sizes (Ibiza one is narrower).
Thanks for the help...
If anyone can confirm these details that would be great... not that I don't trust ya Roly like.. :) but I wanna make sure I tell K&N the right one, don't wanna look a plank and get them to put the wrong part in their catalogue.. lol
how dare u not trust my info:p
i've double checked and it is the right part no
ps it is 4 a beeza, ur right the leon is a different airbox
pps im sure flapper will check 4 u aswell
ppps i am a dealership and i do have this great compoter

Cheers bud... Top banana to the man over there.. !! ;)
I just wanted to make sure it was the code for the one on the beeza.. or I would have K&N laughing at me down the phone.. lol
I shall give them a ring now and let them know the details..
again.. many thanks for your help Roly.. :)

Roly: The guy at K&N seemed to think that the part number you gave me was a 'chassis' number.. ?? not sure what he means by that... whether he meant the chassis body to the airbox or the car itself.. ??
He apparently needs the number that is printed around the outside rim of the actual filter element.
Should be available on the SEAT parts computer I guess.. ??
Cheers..

Having doubted that the guy knew what he was on about I was curious... and I reckoned the number you gavce me was correct as most of the Ibiza part numbers should start with a K shouldn't they as that is the car identifier type thing.. ??
Well.... As it happens.. Daz/Flapper just e-mailed me back and confirmed the part number you had already given me.. plus he gave me the dimensions of the filter, so I have phoned them through to K&N...
So should all be sorted now... *touches wood*
They will hopefully dispatch the correct part to me ASAP, and I can get it fitted and see if the oil on the filter causes any problems with my MAF sensor.. lol (more than likely, as I am unlucky).
Is it advisable to try and wipe some of the oil off the filter material? Or are they not actually that heavily oiled..?? I just noticed that the box said pre-oiled on it, and so wondered..
So, many thanks for your help guyz.. SeatCupra.net and Amethyst provide valuable information to a SEAT customer yet again.. !! Good show boyz..
Cheers..
