I just ordered a Turbo Upgrade for an Ibiza. It includes a new K04 Turbo, New Intercooler, extra oil cooler, new chip, modified air intake. Suposedly is good for 247HP. Since I am in Venezuela I should have it installed in about a month or so, because of shipping time. In the mean time, can anybody tell me if they have done this to any other Ibiza? Did all go well?

Oh, Also I ordered Bilstein Suspension to handle the extra speed. The only thing I still need is a Cat Back Exhaust that doesnt make too much noise.

Perhaps you could do a review of the Mods you have done to your car? I can then post them on the site.

Milltek do a nice one that doesn't sound too loud. I test drove a 210 Ibiza with one on yesterday. Try www.roadandsport.co.uk (http://www.roadandsport) and email them for a part number. It fills the hole in the rear bumper perfectly.

Cheers
Andy

Don't forget the 4 pot calipers m8! Pretty essential with that sort of power I would have thought :)

247bhp??? In an Ibiza???

Blimey.....let us know how it drives on a day to day basis PLEEEEASSSE!!

Quite a few people in the UK have been arguing over the drivability issue of a 240+bhp Ibiza....so i would really like to know how it feels.

I know it can be done...but certain respected Seat tuners in the UK will NOT do the conversion cos it will be a waste of money!! The car simply can't cope with anything above 220bhp in their opinion

Ok, IŽll send you a review on the 247Bhp Ibiza in aproximately 2 weeks. By the way, I have SEAT SPORT BRAKES on it and they really slow the car down fast. The only thing I recommend is changing the Ferodo Brake Pads with CoolCarbon. You can get them from www.turnermotorsports.com (http://www.turnermotorsports.com) in the USA.

Where are you getting this kit from and set up?

open question........
Why would'nt the Ibiza stand up to 240+bhp?

What do you think the weak points might be?

cheers

I think a 240bhp Ibiza would only struggle with its Traction Control, trying to keep 240 ponies under control in a smallish car like the Ibiza may cause day to day troubles.

Fun yes, but in the wet and in traffic how drivable will it be?

Otherwise there is no technical difficulties in doing that conversion, RSD have already produced a 240bhp Leon conversion so it could be applied an Ibiza.

But their intial trials have decided the Ibiza was much more reliable at the 210bhp mark, the Leon with its extra weight is able to control 240bhp on its standard TCS and ESP quite well, even so the Leon was fitted with AP Racing brakes to help compensate for the extra power.

Though the implementation of an aftermarket traction control system like Racelogic may alieviate such problems.

Its a grey area, and there is no one saying dont do it, just that people are interested to see how pratical it is in a day to day scenario.

Most of the new SEAT owners myself included only have the one car, we do want a bit of poke, but we also need our cars for work, so we need to know in the mornings they will be reliable good cars, i think if you tinker with a cars engine too much you enevitably can make it unreliable, and these modern engines dont really allow you to do much with them if they fail, unlike the old cars you could whack with hammers and they would go again :p

But im all up for experimentation, these 1.820VT engines can be taken well over 300bhp, and are pratically bomb proof :)
