View Full Version : is the price write
i went to my local seat dealer and they quoated me £200 for a service for my cordoba mk1 on a r plate and £300 for a cam belt and tensioner
yes,
£60 from an indy plus parts, so less than £100 all in. Up to you if you want to pay 3 times the price tho
ok but isnt it better to get the car serviced by seat being that its a seat + getting a seat service stamp + they can try to look at all other nigerlly problems you might have cos i got me a few
If you say so. Another garage/mechanic is only going to look at the same problems tho. Stamp means squat whena car is older. Mine was dealer serviced by previous owner, then only went to the dealer for service once since I bought it. But if you want to pay £500 for service and cambelt change for peace of mind and a stamp that's your choice. Parts are cheap, you might need a new dizzy cap and rotor arm, all of about £35.

teeth mate, get a back street place to do it, all they are going to do is a straight forward cam belt replacement, not rocket science, im sure they will give you a stamp too, just not a seat one..
they could change the oil and do the plugs/filter too for less than 150!!
If you want to keep your Seat history then you could still get them to do the service, but definitely get the cambelt done somewhere cheaper. Mine cost me £60 including parts and labour on my 8v at a local garage.
