Changed the oil n plugs on me mrs's fiesta 1.1i over the weekend. It was the first oil change it had had in 30000 miles / 3 years...

I put a can of engine flush through before I did the change and I also changed the plugs oil filter and air filter.. as well as pouring redex into the cylinders and leaving it for a while...

After flushing all the shit out in big clouds of smoke everything was running fine and sounding alot nice than it was.

Get in it the next mornin and it wouldnt start I had to turn it over for about 20 - 30 seconds then it started and was fine... Then tried again this mornin and it took the same 20 -30 secs to start.

I thought maybe dampness gettin in on the plugs or something but they were done up tight so what have I done?? Hve I fooked something?

Should I take the plugs out and check that there isnt any shit stoppingthem sealing?

It runs perfectly once its goin!!! and starts perfectly once its been runnin...

Sorry its a long post I just wanna know what I've broken!!!

Cheers guys

Its a difficult one to diagnose remotely, might be worth taking a plug out first thing in the morning and putting it in its ht lead then hold the base against the cylinder head and get someone to turn the engine over and see if you get a proper spark, if you dont then i would suspect the distributor isnt sealed properly (take apart, clean and reassemble then spray sealing spray over it),

Could also be a duff HT lead maybe, although you would expect just rough running initially, but could be the ht lead that links the coil to the distributor maybe

If the spark is good then i would suspect a fuel line or filter air leak somewhere that is making the fuel drain back to the tank overnight (unless its only happening on cold, damp mornings, try putting it in someones garage overnight to see if that helps)

Cheers Mosser..... I will try it :) the only problem is its gone back to cardiff and I'm in basingstoke... I'll have to try next time I'm up there... Why does everything I touch stop working?:(

bensaud its done 60000 miles... the last 30000 of which have been on the sme oil oil filter plugs n air filter. Could the fuel filter be blocked?

It is very strange once it startes it just keeps goin and is fine.. it is almost like the fuel drains back like you say mosser but what could I have broken to cause that??

Cheers Guys:D
