I've got a 2001 Y reg Leon 20VT cupra i wanna change the spark plugs cos its playing up on startup every now and then how do iget them out? caps and covers doing my head right in. Also heard about this Revo tune up but its pretty expensive is there any other cheaper re-maps available i want some serious performance.

Can you get to the coil packs easily? Or do you have to remove a lot of stuff?
If you don't have to remove anything then pull the coil packs out, then the spark plugs will be visable.

The coils seem to be stuck fast do you need to pull them harde or what? Never seen setup like that used to HT leads and fords is there anything i should know before changing them?

"Just" take the wiring plug off the back of the coil pack then lift up the coil pack. They come off with a bit of a pop, but not too much force is needed.

Unpluging the wires is the hardest part.

I have a Cupra (180bhp) - don't see why it would be different on any other 20V engine.

PFR6Q NGK platinum from memory

dealers charge roughly a £10 each - call your local NGK agent / motor factors and pay half that price

Wouldn't suspect the plugs anyway....the dodgy starting may indicate the coil packs are about to croak?
