View Full Version : Upgrading `95 GTi ( Ibiza)

After reading the message regarding upgrading 94 spec back bumper to 97 spec bumper(Modifcations section), I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the 97 spec grill will fit straight onto a 95 model.
Also does anyone know how much a set of 16" 16 valve cupra wheels are in white and finally if there are any seat sport "sunstrip things" available for your windscreen. I think they came in silver and red.

The 97 spec grill won't fit to older ibizas straightly. The headlamps and indicators are different (smaller on older models). Also the 97 spec grill has mounting differences at both left and right side (below indicators). By the way, there is a similar looking (to 97 spec) grill available for the cordoba (97 or 98) which will fit to old ibizas and "can accept" a mesh.

Hi its Carl again. Im fitting (well attempting) to put the 97 spec grill on my 95 Ibiza this weekend, ill let you know how it goes! Are there any parts your after while im on a search for mine???? Exhaust, bumper etc?

Cheers Carl for offering, but funds are a bit low at the moment. I may have to wait a month or two to get parts but i`m after the info about fitting at present.
i need to book into bodyshop at present as there is rust appearing under rear arches and sill,(Bloody stone chips)so money for the moment is going on that. Maybe a respray of the bonnet aswell.
Let me know how your grill fitting goes, and if you do see any parts i.e. 16v style wheels can you ask about price.

p.s. what have you done for interior? Are you going to go with leater and if so, do you know if a golf VR6 interior fits without to much trouble?

Just another quick query. Have you got 17`s on your car. If so did you need to have any work done on the arches to prevent rubbing, and also what about springs?

Sadly i cant afford 17's yet and its also my first car so im just going to get some standard Cupra alloys for 12 months. Ive found no interior so im going to try 2 recaro's in the front and a re-trim of the rears. Arent you going to fit your bumpers before you do any paintwork???? I paid £50 each for mine!
