Just picked up my Ibiza cupra and i'm in general very impressed with it.
Just a few complaints, The speakers have no Bass at all and any attempt to coax any bass out of them just results in distortion.
I thought the installation in my old BMW 318i was rubbish, but compared to the installation in the cupra, it was exceptional.
I've noticed after three days of ownership that there are a few rattles (i drive around with the stereo off most of the time, its that bad!!!) creeping in already. Not loud, but still audible and very irratating. seem to be coming from above the drivers side rear window, from somewhere in the mouldings under the drivers seat and from the passengers seat headrest.
Is it just me or has anyone else experianced anything remotely similiar?

Mine has a rattle in the drivers door caused by the bass from the door speaker rattling something else.
I agree the Ibiza speakers are crap, especially the rears... 6x9's should sort it. I tried replacement 6x4's (Infinities) they do not help much. Frtons are better but cannot handle too much bass before distorting. The power is plenty and otherwise the head unit seems fine to me. Speakers are the issue I think.
Also, squeek from the dash pod at times. All the demonstrators did it also though. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/frown.gif
Otherwise awesome power and acceleration http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

Agree with the power thing. I'm still running the car in and so only using the first 3500 - 4000 rpm and still can leave most things for dust!
The funny thing is, most people take one look at the car and leave it alone http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif
I like that http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif
Not sure whether i can be bothered to start hacking away at the parcel shelf after a few days of ownership

Somebody PLEASE tell me what we can do about the cacky sound system (i.e speakers) in the new Ibiza without having to use a chainsaw removal technique. The SEAT E.S site lists some Official U/G's and Jason (parts blokey) at SEAT Great Covert (North Baddesley, Southampton)is meant to be finding out about them for me.
Amethyst, you guys are meant to be pretty top notch dealers. what do you know about this subject?

I have swapped the rear 6x4's a couple of times from std ones to JBL's to Infinities. All are lacking badly in the bass and depth depts. With the fader on 50/50 front rear there is almost nothing coming from the rears. The infinities are the best of the bunch but still no rich sound or bass. I have resorted to a pair of Kenwood 6x9's in the shelf and the jigsaw out of the garage. It is ABSOLUTELY WORTH swapping to some 6x9's if you want anything out of the rear. The sound now is excellent just from a simple addition of reasonable quality 6x9's. £79 Kenwood 4 ways from Halfords.
Now the sound is much much better with great tight base and the fader now slightly front biased for goo mix. Superb. Its the only way to go.
i think the 6x4's in the factory location hanging on the 4 little plastic lugs of the plastic shelf, they have no hope of good bass no matter what quality of speaker. I rate infinities as my preferred "best" and they did'nt sound very good in this location either.
If I can get the fronts better now I will be sorted in the sound dept. Not sure whats involved in the fronts though from reading another post about the door speakers being integral to the mounting frame ???? Oh bugger! Is this right?
