Is that my car in the pictures as Dale did take some, was it the light that turned it black or am I barking up the wrong tree. I don't remember removing one of those silly covers??

Well good guide so hope it will help people in the future and myself also for next time just in case I forget LOL.

I think the disk guide part is your car, the pads bit is mine.

Dale's photography skills meant we got about 3 useable shots :thumbd: :D

Cheers, as I said part of the thanks goes to you for the original guide.......not nearly as difficult as I imagined it would be though.

Never get a dealer to do it again

OK so how difficult is this really? I'm tempted to try fitting dome new pads myself but I've not changed pads since I did the brake shoes in my Fiesta ( And that is a LONG time ago now... )

easier than your fiesta pads. you don't even have to remove the calliper

How can I check if it's time to change brake pads?
Can I do it visually, without removing the wheel? How?

look at the pad (can do it without taking the wheel off)

but you can only see the outer one - which tends to wear less

By looking at it, how can I know if it's already time to change it?
Does it have a minimum depth? How much?

they start with about 9, but you don't really want to go lower than 2mm (and that'd be too close for me)

suprisingly there is a visual check for the MOT now which IIRC is about 4mm. B******* at the MOT station where I took my Leon failed it for that, even though when I replace the pads, they were 6mm.....enjoyed reporting them :D

Any moderator's know where the LCR pad guide has gone. Link in first post of this thread doesn't seem to work.

Thanks,
Adrian.
