That's you Pete (or anyone else that can help)
I have my selection of ICE connected to the standard beezer (20VT) head unit (crapola high level o/p's) now when I turn on the radio I get a nasty pop...more of a 'bub-umph' really...
Anyway, I know that highl evel outputs don't help cos the head unit is producing a pulse....
Question is, without doing a 'spanish conversion' on the head unit by sending it away to be able to use a head unit with RCA outputs, what can I do to stop or reduce the pulse output?
Ta.
I assume your running an amp. and its the sub (or whatever is running off of the amp) that is popping.
If this is the case make sure you are using the remote connection from the back of the head unit... This should stop it.

Nope...it doesn't....i'm assuming that you assumed what i assumed...that the remote has a small delay on to only switch on the system after any surge?
Nope...it doesn't work.

What amp are you using? I'm looking into possibilities for high to low convertors at the minute. I found one that looks just right and I'll get back to people when I've done a bit of searching..
Do you know any friendly electronic engineers? Knowing that most of us seem to work in IT.. If you do ask him/her to make you up a little board which puts a two second or so delay in a 12v switched output.. It's very easy to make would cost pence and could solve the problem..

Well the problem seems to be in both my Sony (pass thought) type amp that powers the front and rear (although it's meant to have some suppression in it...) and also in the RF amp powering my sub...it's neither of those though cos the pulse is coming from the headunit speaker high outs...i'm using a high low level coverter (with ground isolator) for the sub to try to alevite the problem, and it reduces it a little...Mapli were getting rid of their old stock so I got as many as I could for 2.50 each!!!! (got 4).
I should be able to build a delay myself (did they degree many moons ago, but not done alot of hands on recently).
'MATT1E' seems to do alot of circuit design. He's a useful contact.
