Ap_coupe, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1,Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2,If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
Any ideas?
Please see the sticky in the same section that you posted this in
And again.
I just sold my FTO today and want to get a Cupra at a good price. I have seen 2/3 in the for sale section but I can't contact them through PM nor can I post on the thread (I know I can't do this but why can't I PM?).
Have I done something wrong? :bleh:
Not sure if the sellers would be happy loosing a sale cos if this? (strange system set up maybe?)
Moses.
i'll offer you £5k for the FTO dependendent on mileage/details

Maybe when they run the site they can have a say too.
Basically its run like this, to prevent the misuse of this site, by dodgy sellers, misuse of PM facilities to cold message/sell products without the knowledge of the us the hosts. Earlier this year there was also indication of illegal selling activities, ie someone claiming to have something for sale they did not, and making of with members money.
Fortunately not a common occurance, but we prefer to air on the side of caution, and our rules are there to deter that kind of post or seller, if someone is a serious member of the site, then they'll take the time to build their post count up and will shortly get the full member access allowing them private messaging services, and the ability to make their own for sale threads.
For sale threads directly should be seen as a shop window, when your selling something, you need to advertise it clearly, give as many details as possible including pictures if possible, and clear contact details, dont rely on the private messaging system, clearly state an alternative email or telephone number, if you want guests and newbies to be able to get access to what your selling.
We allow members to post adverts for FREE, we do this under our own conditions
Sorry Flapper the FTO was sold today.
So I have a large sum of money burning a hole in my pocket and no Cupra owners to contact due to the rules?
Guess I will be getting a something else instead, I understand the rules of the forum and have taken the time to read the rules on the 'selling section' but I am a member of 5 car forums and I have never come accross such a restricted site!
I just hope the sellers put their numbers up or I will be forced to buy something else?!! :thumbd:
Moses
The sellers are equally aware of the rules - so they should make it clear how to comunicate with them.
If they choose to not allow people to email them, then they clearly don't want to sell.....
People sell cars through here regularly - so it does work.

moses there is a private messaging system on here, forum email if you will. everyone uses this as its private and immediately notifies you of any new messages next time you view a cupranet page or login.
Not til you hit the threshold to be 'triggered' for PM's brendy - which Moses hasn't yet
cordobabrendy - this is what I mean by 'PM'. Sadly it ain't working for me as it did when I first joined.
Guess I will have to spam the whole site with uselss information so I can PM sellers with offers.
Can I do this? or will I get banned? :(
Could be a no win situation for me!

keep posting and it wont be long before you have full permissions on here mate, we all did!
I didn't realise www.seatcupra.net was the only place SEATs could be advertised.
The world's your oyster... www.seat.co.uk and www.autotrader.co.uk also advertise them!
Moses, You took the time to register, create an avatar etc so I assume you want to stay for a while. It wont take you long to reach the limit and Yes the admins will take a dim view of spamming

Nice one! so I can buy from 3 of the below:
www.seatcupra.net ... Owned by enthusiast and cared for.
www.seat.co.uk ... Get ripped off by a sales man.
www.autotrader.co.uk ... Could be stolen and recovered or just abused by a Chav.
I think I will be busy spamming all the threads to see what I can do
BTW - What does my post count need to be before I become a 'proper member' for spamming?

matey, everyone on here gets on well, no animosity, great banter and some decent advice along the way, the rules dont really even come into play most days, its only there for the occasional misguided post/reference.

Not particularly. Even members cars get ragged from cold, generally abused, etc. And you could even find more careful people on Autotrader.
Hell, I'm only trying to help, but I may be fighting a losing battle here.
Moses I wasn't aware that we run SEATCupra.net to sell cars for people? The service is here for members to use under the rules and guidelines we put down, simple, we don't ask money from members to run this site, nor do we have any intention of doing so now or in the future.
As Brendy says 99% of the time, this place runs itself quite happily, people get along, and enjoy friendships and using the site to enjoy their cars, and solve issues, share information and general make the site a huge resource for its members
All the admins and moderators look after this site in their spare/free time, and over time its become in some respects an unpaid second job, but we and they do it cause were enthusiasts just like everyone else that uses it, were not here to make money from it, cause quite simply it doesnt make money it supports itself and that's all.
Have a little respect for the people who do actually put time and effort into it, Im sure the people who look after SEAT.co.uk and Autotrader get paid a wage to do what they do, however we don't, nor would we want to paid for running SEATCupra.net
toXXin - You are not fighting a loosing battle, I appreciate your help but I have been to dealers to look at Cupras and I can't say they have the Cupras I am after, it is unlikly Seat Cardiff will advertise their Revo'd Cupra with a Brembo upgrades and a K04 Turbo upgrade on their fourcourt.
I agree with the comment of being an enthusiast owned car it still gets ragged, but the good thing about buying from an enthusiast club you can find this out by chatting to people, you can't do this with a stranger on autotrader, also you'll find a lot of posts where sellers advertise their car cheaper on a enthusiast site than Autotrader (I did).
cordobabrendy - you seem like a good guy too! I think I'll remeber you when I have a post count of 1,000+ ;) ... Nice sig too
Moses.
ZBOYD - If you saw my post while selling my car it had "Looking to P/X for Cupra"
If anybody wanted to go into the jap world from VAG then I am willing to do a good deal.
It seems my Cupra will de delayed in getting to me as I don't spam in threads.

Ahhh, ok, nice one, thanks for that!! :worship:
What does the post limit need to be again? (before having the ability to PM sellers).
Moses

it's pretty bloody clear.
Nice.
Here take one of these.

I see the level of maturity hasn't changed here for a while.
Thanks
Moses.
