has anyone driven these other small TDis?

I drove the 65bhp Clio
it felt a lot slower and less nippy even though it was a Dynamic(?) with the sports steering,

the side support on the seats was better, but it still had the Clio common failing of no lower back support, standard exipment knocked the Arosa for dead, though really the only extra I'd definetly have taken was the ABS and brake assist, wouldnt have minded the stereo with remote (why doesnt VAG do this, anyone whos driven a car with stereo remote will understand how easy it is to control the radio without taking your concentration of the road) and air con.

but the new Clio 80bhp is more powerful (is it though, anyone know is the Arosa TDi really just 75bhp?) but has less torque, supposed to be more economical but I have doubts

at the end of the day, the 65 bhp was more expensive and the 80 bhp is almost £1,500 more, though you do get a bigger class of car
and lastly it was no fun it was just a car if you know what I mean

Never driven the PUG 1.4 HDi only the 1.4 pertrol, very simialr to drive to a clio and I would imagine even more expensive

My Arosa 1.4TDi went on the rolling ramps and it was kicking out 82BHP before I had it superchipped! You got to remember that there is a difference between BHP seen on the wheel and on the flywheel!

When buying my car last July I test drove the Clio 1.5DCi Dynamique 65BHP.

I thought the car was very good, very refined, loads of equipment, liked it a lot - I almost bought it until I test drove the Arosa, the Arosa was just so much more fun to drive. And being £1000 less helped.

I also looked at the 206 HDi Eco 1.9, this just didn't feel as fast as it should have done, and had no equipment at all! And awful skinny tyres!

Well I was one of the first ones to get the 1.4TDi Arosa and I had to wait ages for it and I couldn't even get a test drive in one. I think at the time there was only 1 demo in the whole country! But my instincts paid off and I couldn't have been happier now! Genrally all round a very good value for money car with great performance, good fuel economy and surperb fun! Best of all it still catches people attention as it is not as common as muck!

Hi, last month i replaced my beloved MK1 Golf GTI with an Arosa TDI. The performance, quality and economy of the Arosa are just as good as i had expected, but the roly poly handling is getting on my nerves ( I test drove the car around Bristol city centre not on the Devon lanes which i use every day) What can be done?? I spent £1000 at TSR to sort out the Golf but don't want to spend that kind of cash.
