View Full Version : Ibiza 20vt Gear Stick
Has anybody changed this yet or know how to get it off?

Grrrrrrrrrr ........... cmon then spill the beans fella ;)

oh okay then:) grab the chrome/plastic surround at the bottom of the gear gaitor. give it a hard pull and it will clip outta place (pull at the end closest 2 the handbrake) the gearknob is held on with a crimped metal clip, cut this off and then ur gearknob will just come off. to refit the boot, look on the plastic surround and u will c 4 little clips, u need 2 push em in 2wards the centre of the trim. then push the surround back in and push the clips outwards into the centre console (u have 2 do this throught the boot)
well that's about it, i know it don't make sense but u'll figure it out when u look at it (hopefully)

The silver surround bit at the bottom of the gear stick has four clips that you can feel through the leather (two on each side). If you push them towards the gear stick the surround should gently pull out (I know cos mine fell out when I first got it). Saves risking breaking them by tugging it out.
