I have just finished installing cruise control to my 2000 Leon Cupra and it wont work. I think its activated OK (though im not sure) but when I press the switch I get nothing.

I ran a fault check and it came up with "cruise control switch signal implausable". Does anyone know what this could mean. I have been told that maybe I have a bad connection somewhere but I have had a look and everything seems OK.

Does anyone know what this means as its now officially irritating me ;)

Thanks in advance :)

What about all you lot that recently did the group install. Have you had any probs? Did you have to activate it or did it just work?

This is driving me mental now!!

All the group install cars worked first time I believe!

I'd recheck all the electrical connections - the terminal block plugged into the new stalk, the wires patched into the plastic block near the wiper motor and then the wires into the ECU. Plus make sure your patch to the fuse blox worked OK. Also double check it's activated!

Karl,

Have you checked the switch outputs in block 66 of the engine module, using VAG-COM?

I have checked them and one of them will only show 0 and not 1.

Going by this I assumed that the car was already set up to run cruise and that there must be something not quite right. I took the car to pieces again and have finally figured out that the blue wire that I fitted into the ECU had compressed and crossed over onto the wire next to it!!

Luckily it hadnt damaged the ECU and on test earlier today the cruise control works a treat (though its a strange sensation at first) and no faults are being logged at all.

Thanks for all your help.

Karl
