Please help! I've purchased some 6x9 speakers to go on the rear shelf of my new cupra, but dont know the best way to wire them in. Do I tap in to the door speaker feeds (if so - how) or run new wiring from the radio? can anyone please advise? How do you get the radio out? what is the colour coding of the rear speaker wiring? My car is brand new, and I don't want to damage it!

why you putting in 6*9's already ??

if it helps i have a wiring plan for the stereo (mail me):)

need special keys to remove it though

best off joining them @ the source (easier than stripping the door)

try this FIRST

BASS +3/+4
TREBLE +4

whack it up and LISTEN , STILL wanna add 6*9's ??

lozza,
The Leon has one of the best standard fit systems mate, no need for the 6x9's on the rear shelf. If you are intent on installing these then wire from the head unit (as per Flappers reccomendation). You can remove the head unit by using some kenwwood or pioneer head unit removal tools - just insert into the two slots at the bottom of the factory unit.

I cannot remember the colour coding of the wires but Flapper's diagram would help (Any chance of posting it here Flapper???).

You could always get an ISO to ISO connector and cut into this (for your 6x9's) so that you don't cut into the cars original loom.

I am installing a set of JBL components in the front doors along with a set of JBL 3-way coaxials in the rear doors (nicely hidden from thieving scumbag eyes). For added bass, slap a sub in the boot in a properly designed box and you can't go wrong.

I have also replaced the head unit with a Pioneer DEH-P6400R and it has made the standard speakers sound soooo good I've not been arsed to install my JBL kit yet.

Just my thoughts lozza :) .
