Ive got a few irritating things on my new cupra.
1) Exhaust rattles when turning left.
2) Drivers seat squeeks like mad.
3) Dash rattles
4) Brakes make nasty noise at low speed.
5) Suspension creaks
6) Dash Lights flicker when you get out of the car, very strange.
Anyone had owt similar?

ok, i was marshalling at the seat lurgan park rally a few months ago and 5 leon cupras and 3 ibiza cupras, (strangely enuff all yellow and had full rally rollcages fitted,!!), were racing round the park as safety cars and a couple of ex rally drivers paid to show off the seat's capabilities!, the brake noise im assured is the brake discs, after the leons and ibizas had been round the park a few times the brakes sounded fine, i got a pic of one of the leons warming up at scrutineering the night before on my page if anyones interested, but can you imaging 8 brand spanking yellow cupras flying round a park with a road about 5 1/2 feet wide being chased by a CORDOBA WRC EVO3, you had to see it to believe it!! the imprezas and evo VI's paled into the background!!
the dash noises are flaws im afraid, having them reseated can help though!!
Lights flickering sounds like earthing problem to me, had that before on my toad alarm!!

Saul, plan your journey to only include right turns, and keep the stereo on loud enough to drown things out.
Its funny though, my current 2+ year old 16V doesn't have any noticably annoying squeaks or rattles inside.

Yep. Dashboard rattles from above centre air vents, driver seat squeaks - but changing height adjustment cures it for about 50 miles. Also makes some funny noises from steering and brakes when going backwards.
Will ask my dealer to check it all out at 10K service which is due soon....damn £££.
Anyone any idea how much?

we've had an ibiza in with a seat squeak , after strippin the seat right down http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/frown.gif we found a bar underneath with a tell tale spot on it , seemed to have been rubbing the main frame , it was only a little thing too http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/frown.gif

The drivers seat did squeak for me in my cupra 16v. I looked underneath and found a black spring (which has something to do with the height adjustment), applied some grease on the edges (mounting points) of the spring and volia. No squeaking anymore.
