View Full Version : Smoothing airbox & bigger air feed?
Anyone tried this?
Is there room around the battery/bumper to get a bigger cold air feed in for the airbox, and where would be the ideal position for the air feed to gather air from?
After having a quick look i didnt see anywhere blatently obvious.

Very very cramped in that area. The battery, std A/B and the intercooler all play there part. I have tried with a bigger feed to the std A/B by removing the horn at the front of the std A/B, replacing it with a bit of 60mm guttering and feeding some flexi pipe down the inside of the wheel arch liner. Good for 202BHP at stealth as a standard map.
That was on that occassion though. I now run a dynatwist that I aquired. Probably your best bet without messing about.

Is that small grey pipe the air feed? or is it extended further down but not shown in the pic?

The gray pipe is an ideal size to drop the standard sealing rubber onto (the one that comes off the original horn). This then fits and seal nicely into the existing entrance to the airbox.
I tried that on it's own as an air feed (it's protected pretty well against heat at that point) and I also tried some cheap flexible hosing I got from Merlin Motorsport to get the feed from lower down.
