View Full Version : No more nicked valve caps!
Got metal bolt-in wheel valves or fancy valve caps? Get these, the last set you'll ever buy and cannot be undone by hand, pliers or spanner! I just got a set of these chrome-plated spin caps, very high quality and work superb!

Stupid Q but how do you get them off?

They come with an adapter m8, so the owner can attach it to undo, just like locking wheel nuts.
I see!
Think I'll stick with the plastic black ones, sure they do the job just as well.
thanks.
Yeah, black plastic caps look SO good on metal bolt-in valves.
I got a set of them a few months back.
they work well because I still have them on my car.

They also look great with the standard black plastic valves :D
Seriously, the metal caps look good, just not for me...
i like the idea of these personally

you get a locking thing with them as well as telling you when your tyres are low.
look good tho £20 seams a bit steep!
(im a student! :p)
Considering I've had 4 sets of metal caps nicked (at £5 a set), mostly by kids I think, (I caught them on the last occassion!) I think the spin caps are an excellent idea and reasonable value too.

Kids are a pain in the ass nicking these things, not so bad in the winter but when the kids are out in the summer they go missing every week of the 2 cars we have. I parked the car at an angle to the house once and the only wheel with one left was the one closet to the front door.

furry muff then
what did u do to the kids u caught?
james :)
Erm ... sternly told them off! ;) Kids cannot remove these spin caps with hands, pliers, spanners, etc. so they should never be stolen!
Just tought I'd dig this old thread up as I have a problem.
I went to unscrew my valve caps and they are stuck fast!
Turned so hard that the valve started to turn!
Looks like they have rusted maybe?
I hope some WD40 might losen them
other wise I'll leave it untill I replace the tyres!
I won't be useing these again! black plastic for me.

I have resorted to flush fit valves now so there is no chance of anyone stealing them as there is nothing to steal!
I had put on a set of valve caps a while back that I got free with a magazine. It stated to grease them before putting them on to reduce the chance of corrossion (spelling?) but I never did. They stuck on completely and I was scared I was going to rip the valve off if I turned them any harder with a spanner. They were nut shaped so a spanner was great. I ended up having to use mole grips on the valves and then literraly use mega force on the spanner to free them. As it took me so long to get to that stage I had severly under inflated tyres by this point, when I put air back in the car felt so much better to drive.
I also have these identical valve caps - Highly recommended.
Cannot be nicked, and give that touch of class too :D
Now very similar ones sold by Richbrook if they are as per there usual standard shoud be v good and in Alloy and colours!!!
