rIGHT THEN LETS GET THIS STARTED.. BEEZA 20VT CUPRA COMES WITH A KK03 TURBO (CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG) 1STLY IS THIS THE EQUIVELENT TO THE T3??? (I.E WHAT MAX BOOST OF KKO3) WHATS BENEFITS ARE THERE IN UPGRADING?? SAME WITH KKO4/T4?? IDEAS??

When you say T3/T4 i assume your talking about garret turbo's?
Very different turbo's, id say KKK04 is about T2 ish

yeah i do mean garret.. so the bigger kko3 is only equivelent to a t25 say... so an upgrade to a t3 turbo will see vast improvements... any1 know what the max boost a kk03/04 can run at??

I would say that the Borg Warner KK03 turbo is a LOT smaller than the Garret T02 turbo, never mind the 3. I have a T04 Garret on my V8 engined drag racer ! .....which incedently has never been seen !!!! yup still in the garage :mad:
Read Maximum Boost written by Corky Bell for good info on turbocharging.
Compression ratio on the 20VT engine is way too high for serious boost mods like we used to be able to do on the Cossies etc.

As already said, if you want to know more about turbocharging have a look a Corky Bells book on it. Excellent read.
Its not the boost level it can run at but the cfm of air it can shift at a given boost level. Compressor maps etc...
Eg. Jabbasports 380bhp Golf runs 1 bar boost on its IHI turbo.
APR/Oettinger/Upsolute also run K03's at 1 bar boost and get 200bhp (approx) - Same boost level. One shifts a lot more air.
K03 in smaller than a T2 or T25.

cheers guys.... anywhere on the www that i dont have to buy it though? :) lastly what would be the most realistic turbo to upgrade to and boost level on the beeza cupra using current engine setup??

If you don't want to chaneg the manifold, K04 is your option.
Matched to suitable remapping it should be good for 240bhp approx.

cool.... ive seen em for £999 at www.impossible-performance.cwc.net they got to be cheaper else where.... also what if the manifold was changed cause the plan is a full 3" stainless system including cat so manifold would be changed anyway... what turbo could be bolted on while keeping existing engine setup??

IHI turbo on new manifold...
Not sure what you mean by stock engine setup though..

Well the guide for reference has to be Jabbasports MK IV Golf with its 380bhp. Stock internals, stock clutch.
Runs chargecooler and their IHI conversion, and de-cat.
So far its not blown apart :)

sounds good ima have to speak to them. Ive priced up full 3" stainless downpipe back include highflow decat just wanting to get feel for manifold and turbo.
Have they started public production of the charge coolers yet??? ££££???
