This is more for information.
I ordered a set of headlight protectors for the Altea, the Seat accessories and low and behold what dropped out of the box was the deflectors as well. These stick to the protectors inside, rather than the car's headlights. There is a nice black mark where you stick them.
When I went to Germany just before Xmas I made my own deflectors up following the instructions in the manual. I used insulating tape and stuck onto masking tape. A Portuguese lorry drive stole them off the car on the ferry crossing - nice. The partner noted that they had gone and said the lorry next to us has some. I looked at them and they were the ones that I had made up the night before with the masking tape. :( So he stepped down and two :censored: onto him made him relent and say you can take them back. He did me a favour since I found that the masking tape left a mark of glue that I had to get out using a rubber.
So good news I can now go back to my old way of sticking the deflectors inside the protectors and as I said the Altea accessory comes complete with the deflectors in with the protectors and a nice handy marked area to stick them, no measuring up on a wind swept dock :) .
Thought you'd like the info in case you’re planning and driving abroad [£48-31 inc VAT - VW prices I think].
