What thickness are the 305mm disks used on the 'R'

Also does anyone know all the part numbers of all the bits needed to convert to them like disks, callipers, carriers, pads.

I assume it will bolt straight on in place of the existing 280x22 brakes?

discs £42.00 each

calipers £86.00 each

pads £47.00 (set)

mounting plates £21.88 each

all + vat BUT may need to check as the price list i have is 3 months old mind

would you believe the hoses are £95 EACH ?? and the little elbows and fittings run in @ £75 odd some of em :(:(:(

Project? what Project?;) lol, put it this way, I have a cunning plan up me sleeve

so

discs are £49 inc vat

calipers are £104 inc vat

mounting plates are £26.52

pads are £57 inc vat

brake hoses are a joke and get them custom made for around £15 each

I make that £446 for a 4pot conversion:)

probably with a modified bracket , but the cost of that would be dearer than a 305 disc anyway ?

SIZE IS EVERYTHING :):)

Has anyone actually seen the disks to compare them to the 280mm ones?

I know the 280mm ones are 22mm think, but does the offset look the same?

As I was thinking of trying to use them with standard callipers on spacer brackets done on a CNC machine.

The 280mm callipers will take the 28mm thick disks if you use the thinner pads from the 256mm brakes.

I would be interested in the spacer brackets if you go ahead if i cant stretch to the 4pots:)

I would like to check prices on these parts in Sweden, so does anyone have a complete list with all the part numbers? (including the fittings.. just to check).

Anyone know if this kind of swap would be covered by the warranty since they are genuine SEAT parts?

Hubs are exactly the same as late Golf Mk2 16V/G60 ones, as long as your car allready has 256mm brakes.

Hi Guys.

Brakes on the R are sh1t hot.
I had a shot of Jim@Star's APR chipped Ibiza with Pagid discs and pads on it.

Brakes were absolutely pathetic in comparison

Look very pricey to me though - but you get what you pay for...

I went and ordered the disks today at a main dealer, and will let you all know how I get on with the spacers.

I did phone ATE as I have a trade account, but they told me they will not be making any of those disks due to the limited demand.

Good oh, I await with anticipation;) I can get discs grooved and or X-drilled for very reasonable ££

Enzo

I didnt think anyone was doing X-drilled 305mm disks?

F2 Stu

Stu,

Any chance of the details for that company. Mate has just gone in and ordered the R brakes for his scirroco/corrado hybrid track car and really wants drilled ( no pleasing some folks! ) so this sounds perfect

Prices? Drilled and grooved? (each)

cheers

The company is www.hispecbigbrakes.co.uk

the cost is around £30-40 per pair of discs weather it be grooved, X-drilled or both (combi)

cant say how quickley they can do them as they are churning out 4 & 6pot calipers as fast as they can aswell as other stuff, so any delivery date should be taken with a pinch of salt (they are doing sum discs for our Alhambra which was dropped off in Febuary and we still are waiting for them!) .

just say Stuart sent ya;)
