has anyone had this experience?
bits and pieces, and sometimes chunks, of black dust keep coming out of my a/c vents! i think these used to make up the foam lining of the whole aircon blower system or something. it used to be just little bits but now its getting worse. in fact some amount of already air flows through the unselected vents. one of these days a big chunk will hit my eye while i'm driving.
what caused it and how do i clean it?
cheers!

ive never had that happen before, iit could possibly be part of the door mechanism that opens and closes acess for outside air, (the button beside aircon!) what year and model is your motor?

sounds a bit dodgey, take it to a seat dealer and ask them to diagnose whats wrong, maybe they wont charge much !!, just a thought matey.
How about cleaning where the air goes in thoroughly & then blasting the fan on for a good while to 'purge' it.
If it still does it it's got to be something like the foam (which will degrade with time) and it is 6 years old foam.

yup! it is FOAM. six year old foam to be exact.
and lately air comes out from all vents (windsheild, under dash, etc) no matter if i select just one vent.
has anyone ever changed or serviced the foam linings of their airconditioning?
thanks for your valuable assistance guys!

must be the foam from the surrounds of the air channel selector ( like the terminology?) , the dashboard might be a bit nasty to remove, i tried to do it to my old ibiza a couple of years ago, 96 1.4. took ages and got some of it loose, but had to quit as my knuckles had enuff of the scrapes!!
