Thats very cheap ! My 10k service cost £170, I presume the 20k will cost more ? If so, I may have to try a Skoda dealer.

do you still keep your warranty up if you dont go to a seat dealer for service.i asked seat uk and told me go to a seat dealer...i wanted to go to a audi dealer because it was closer to me...but i got told no can,t do that. :-o

You can get it serviced anywhere but if something goes wrong then the main dealer can turn round and say it was down to the service not meeting the same standard as as a main dealer. Not saying all dealers would but as servicing is main source of income for garages they will not want to devalue it.

so to be safe go to a seat dealer to service.....

It can be serviced anywhere VAT registered and still have valid warranty, as long as genuine parts are used.

Yeah unfortunately the little stamp in the book still counts for a fair bit come reslae time.

I personally wouldnt think any less of a car if it was serviced at any VAG garage.

All the service sheets are the same that we use, only difference is the logo at the top. I have worked for SEAT in the past and theres no difference.

Totally agree with Ross if Seat took the hump dont say much for the other VAG DEALERS who are in the same group.Or are they jealous that Skoda are doing a better job :roflmao:

can you take up a warranty claim with whoever serviced your car via seat uk?
EG if something goes wrong (heaven fobid) on steves car would mk skoda take up the warranty claim?or would that be a no no?

think it could get very messy with people blaming others, hopefully the day will come when so long as a reputible garages services your car any warrenty claim will be honoured.

not really .i mean if you have been recomended a dealer to go to,and they are willing to service your car, ie take on your custom and being part of the VAG group, how can anyone say your car has not been done to the required standard?
btw this is by no means a slur on ross and his collegues,i have heard nothing but good stuff coming from there.and his help and advice on here and briskoda is very very helpful.
just a general Q about how much VAG would value either dealerships work

i dont think it makes that much difference either. are you really going to get the extra money back when it comes to sell the car? maybe so for newer cars, but for me (2001 leon cupra with 80K), i am now going to start doing the services myself. i personally dont want to pay for a stamp in my book.

instead, i'm keeping a log book of all faults, parts and general observations.
