been told if u wash ure new pipercross filter in hot soapy water and let it dry natuarally it does not effect your MAF. :D Not too bad if it works and you are looking for a cheap filter.
Great idea that one when you wash out all the oil which is an inherent part of the design to keep the cr*p out of your engine.

the coatings they apply are what catches dust.. or not in the case of it being rinsed out.

well u phone pipercross direct and tell them that as what they said to one of the guys i no with one of them fitted.They also said that the MAF sensors on these cars are also pretty tempromental.

I had several filters on my old car. Tried one of the pipercross vortex ones and it was terrible. Came with oil in a sachet which I had so smear onto the filter so it made a mess of everything, it would even seep out of the filter and i'd find retention oil all over the engine bay, then had to really struggle and scratch/damage my maf casing to get the metal base over the plastic maf, then once that was on, the tube that stuck out for the crankcase breather was in the way of where the jubilee clip went to tighten it up even more, took it off the week later and replaced it with a cotton gauze type.
