View Full Version : To Ibiza or ZR?

Hi
I am close to getting a new car and was all set to get a Ibiza cupra... untill I saw the MGZR 160. I think it looks quite swish its very nippy and overal pretty good... What does anyone else think? Would this be as good as or even better then the Ibiza. I am gonna book a test drive as soon as they get one in the local garage

Forget the MGZR 160. It's not even in the same league I'm afraid!
There are only 3 real choices in my opinion.
Ibiza Cupra - (especially the RSD210 or similar).
Clio Sport 172 - nice but a bit girlie in my opinion (handles like a dream though and certainly very quick!)
Honda Civic Type R - Great car but needs to be pushed a lot harder than the rest to get the most out of it.
The MGZR 160 is just an overpriced last ditch attempt to save a failing (already failed in most peoples opinion) brand.
The reason I went for a Cupra myself was for the fact that for the same price as the other 2 I could have a Cupra tuned to over 200bhp, sort the handling out properly and get some nice big brakes and still have some cash left over for some 17's!

I have gone down exactly the same route and to be fair when I took the Ibiza out the MG ZR slowly disappeared into my rear view miror as would the ZR in a race with a Ibiza!
I do admit that the ZR looks nice but the Ibiza has so much potential...go for the Ibiza...I am trying hard to find one now!
