Hello all,

After much worry about rubbing arches, calipers, etc. I decided to bite the bullet and fitted a set of 18 inch Mille Miglia HT3 wheels, with 225/40-18 tyres.

The wheels went on with no trouble at all, so dont bother with 17", go for the 18" (I wonder if 19 " would fit????).

Purchased and fitted by South West Tyres who I would recommend to all (friendly and efficient).

Ive attached a picture for anyone interested.

Car looks cool. What's the ride like with 18s? Much difference?

Looks smart. Where did you get the rear spoiler?

I'm still happy with my 17"s though. (only fitted this week).

The handling is so much better.

enjoy!

Yup the 17's do improve the handling vastly, it was one of the reasons i was unsure of 18's whether or not they'd have an effect on handling, too much tramlining on the bigger wheel?? but i love the way they fill out the wheel on the Leon, they do suit a bigger wheel.

19's would be overkill i think, though im sure they would go under, as they do on Golf IV's

very nice indeed is that standard ride height?think 19's would go a bit too far IMHO but then different wheel styles make all the difference, nice shape to them btw, think it looks just right:cheers:

Well smart, almost look like stripped down spyders. Very nice - did you have any problems finding 18" alloys with the right PCD and ET settings?

Thanks for the positive replies!

I'll try to answer all the questions here.

I had no problem finding the correct fitting (PCD, 5 Stud) for the wheels. I think the majority of the Mille Miglia range come in sizes to fit Seat's.

The ride height on my car is as standard, although the 18" wheels give the illusion of the car sitting lower to the road. This will probably be my next mod (to lower the car by 40mm).

The handling does seem to be improved. There seems to be a harder ride now (though not to hard). And it feels less skittish and wallowly going into corners at speed. No complaints anyway.

The spoiler is a bit of a mystery. This is my second Leon Cupra, the first being a standard job. My local dealer had my current car and I just fell for it (Spoiler, Leather, Sat Nav). I believe the car was owned by the manager of the dealership/demonstrator, and as the dealership is Seat approved, I would be suprised if the spoiler is not and official Seat part. I will try and find out more info on this and let you know.

Just one more thing - are the front disks upgraded, as they look like larger ones to me - maybe just another optical illusion! ;-)

The car looks the Bollocks, possibly one of the best I've seen. The spoiler finishes it off nicely.

The front calipers are the standards fitted to the car. The size of the disc was the one worry the wheel fitters had, would the wheel rim go over the disc.

Luckily there were no problems.
