View Full Version : Thinking about Selling up !!!!
Right lads,
How much you reckon I would get for my Cordy if I sold it ?
Considering the mileage, 27k - 1997 P reg and the mods I have just put on ?
I know it seems quite strange thinking about selling it, esp so soon after getting it kitted it out, but having driven Jims chipped Ibiza 20 Vt yesterday at Star Performance, I really think it might be time for a change.

Chris,
I was thinking the same way a few weeks ago, but I've decided to keep it now - not many cars around now that you can scream the engine on day after day! (its all puffy trubos now :D joke!)
I was going to sell mine for 6.5k, its got slightly higer milelage than yours, but its got more engine mods so it probably balances out. At the end of the day of the day it depends who wants it and how much they're willing to pay - as there are a lot of 16v beezas for sale at the mo!

Thats how much I had though about, esp with all the new mods on mine, maybe slightly more inc my Sony head unit.
The only way I canm see to get more power is to got for a Turbo.

ahh, but you'd need to put another 3k to get a decent Beeza turbo, plus chipping costs and subsequent suspension and brake upgrades. Whereas 3k on your already heavily modded car, and taking into account its low mileage - would get you head, cams and a rechip with some change! where you'd be looking at about 180bhp if its done well, plus the cordy looks nicer (Imo)
The idea would be to get my lass to put the 3k in for the beeza, plus Iam a bit of a lazy shit - ie I would buy Jims beeza at Star Performance, its already been chipped and its up for Sale.
Yeah the Cordy is better looking now, I could always get 3k, get some cams and a throttle body conversion, take it up to about 200, saying that the bird wouldnt give my the 3k to unless she was getting a beezer.

Thank U is a bit mad man. But most people reckon that of me! All U want is more power, right? Serious power. OK, then ask yourself this: Am I going to be using it all the time? Now for some 3K spending considerations (and BTW, I wish my girlfriend had 3 grand to spend on MY car, she jacks her job in this week!)
How about N2O? Nitrous Oxide. There are many places fitting the kits now in many guises. Depending on how much you want to spend depends on how much BHP increase you get. 50-250 BHP, all through the rev range, and you only use the N2O when you switch it on, thus you keep your economy when not in use.
How about a turbo conversion? We all know it's been done before. It does get expensive by the time you've seen intercooler, uprated oil pump, and proper boost pipes all over the place, not to mention extra ECU and mapping required.
But the point is that you've got a smart low mileage Cordy (mine's got over 60K now!) and you only want more power. It can be had. And U know U want to! Don't U sir! Yes! ha har, more power! U know keeping the Cordy makes sense. Just look at the effort U've put in. It's unique, and it's yours.
Have I convinced U yet?
Mad Mark !-)
a man after my own heart! :D
Turbo is out of the question, unless I get an engine transplant, it always boils down to the old question.......
can you turbo a Cordy ???
There is never a straight line anwser on this, NOS really aint an option, my lass aint gonna spend 3k on my car, should would only spend the 3k if I sold my car and upgraded to a Beezer Turbo.
never know I might just wait off another year or so til I have paid of the cordy before I buy another car.
