Does anyone else have a type of grinding noise which you can feel through the pedals when holdin the car on the clutch at biting point? Or have a got a naff one? Only the SEAT dealer cant find anything wrong, but it dont seem right!

Any comment would be very welcome.

Cheers

Yes,
I had a grindy noise on my Cordie SX the first few K's - then it went away. It's difficult to hold the car a biting point so I use the handbrake a bit more than I've used on previous cars.

I've had mine from new, six months old now, where did the time go!. Anyway, I've covered almost 7k miles and its still there, as long as i'm not the only one who seams to have this little problem I will have to live with it.

I know one chap with a 20VT unfortunately had a turbo diesel clutch fitted on to his cupra.....straight from the factory!!!

The diesel clutches are much smaller than the ones in the cupra....cos it doesn't take as much pounding!!!!

I would ask this first..........but i've also noticed my clutch doesn't like me sitting on the biting point for too long (like queing on a spiral thingy on a multi storey car park)....it sometimes locks on me...can't change gear until its cooled down again......and you can smell the shit too!!!!

I don't use those type of car parks anymore!!!

Just learn to use the handbrake, then you can start using those car parks again.

Thanks Neil....that's an EXCELLENT IDEA!!!!!
(cheeky bugger you!!!)

Its no use.....if i can't go straight up that spiral without using the clutch...then i ain't going up it!!!!!

Think i might uprate the clutch next???

The grinding under breaking is just probably grit dust etc stuck between the pads. A jet wash should dislodge it easyly enough.

Mine works fine even with the extra HP, no noices or anything and I even get in motion on uphills without the hand brake.
