Its difficult to compare cars by their 0-60 as the Ibiza 210 is limited by the lack of traction (Its still good though.).

Has anyone accurately measured the Ibiza 210s in gear acceleration, specifically 30-70 and 50-70?

Ben

PS. It doesn't REALLY matter what the figures say... I know how fast the car is!!! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

Its got to be up to UK Impreza levels, maybe a tad nippier than an Audi S3. Be great to get some proper times recorded to prove it.

I think 30-100mph and 50-100pmh would be better comparisons http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

Anyone know how much the Racelogic gizmo is, the one which uses satelites to determin speed etc... The magazines use these now for their speed tests.

Found it.... http://www.racelogic.co.uk/vbox.htm

It would be a good tool for actually determining these figures for real.

The eason I chose 30-70 and 50-70 is because thats the times that Autocar give in their road tests. So, if I can get a 30-70 or a 50-70 time for my Ibiza 210 then I can compare it against 100s of other cars in the Road Test Reference in the back of the mag.

Bill, are you going for that Racelogic thing then? Is it accurate? I'll read up on it on your link.

They've sent me the price list which I have'nt looked at yet. They claim its accurate to 0.4% and better than any optical/doppler system on the market, to such a level that motor manufacturers and tyre companies are buying them. Sounds good.

I have used one when doing a VW Shootout at Bruntingthorpe earlier this year with Performance VW magazine. Dead simple device, battery powered, little magmount aerial for the satellite, jump in drive and download when you're done.

Er, Bill, if you buy the racelogic kit I'll buy ya a pint if I can borrow it! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

You can hire them for £400 a day... shared across 10 people on a track day = £40 each... still a bit steep for probably 30 mins each!

Exorbitant I say.
no way on this earth can their electronics cost a fraction of that. I think they're pitching it at the Daytron kit, which is mucho expensive, and they want to be seen as being superior (which they may well be) but also carry the pirce of being superior... Eak

I won't be dashing out for one of these.
