what would you need to run an amp from a car in a house would it just be a case of using a power convetor,

A BIG high amp 12v power supply.

Only big if you turn it up. I used a brick 12v supply for an old amp that was powering the home cinema sub (ie my old car sub and box stuck behind the sofa). Worked ok.
