Had a peloquin diff fitted a few weeks ago so I'm looking to disable EDL/EDS through vag-com is this possible?
do you need to?
As if you have the LSD, then it won't let the wheels slip enough to activate the EDL

I heard that it was recommended, just concerned that it might interfere in certain situations

Assuming you have a Teves-20 ABS system, there's now way to turn off the EDL via diagnostics. But it can be done with a simple electrical mod:

thanks for a link, didn't fancy messing with the electric while its still under warranty though
btw did you mean "there's now a way" or did you mean "there's no way" as I've seen a post by wilko that indicates he managed to turn off EDL via vag-com but I guess he may have a different ECU

Sorry about the typo. "I meant there's no known way" to turn it off via diagnostics on the Teves-20 system. Now I was assuming you were talking about a ~1996-2000 car, but since you mention warranty concerns (which seems pretty silly if you've just taken apart the tranny and installed a Peloquin) perhaps you should tell us exactly what make/model/year of car you're talking about, and perhaps post the exact data that VAG-COM shows when you access the ABS module in that car.

oops its a 2004 Leon Cupra R (225), I'll post the info up when I plug back in tomorrow
reason I didn't fancy messing with the electrics is because I wouldn't have a clue what I'm doing and it could be fairly visible to the dealer whereas hopefully the ATB wont be unless they strip the box to bits

That car would likely have a Teves 60 system anyway. Don't know if the stuff I sent you would apply at all. But I still don't know of a way to disable EDL using diagnotics. What some people have done is to diable ESP, but that's not the same thing.
Having had a Quaife differential once (in a car that didn't have EDL but was extensively raced) and having had a VR6 which had EDL, I would say that with a Peloquin (which is effectively a clone of the Quaife) your chances of the EDL ever doing anything are quite slim. With a diff like that, it's practically impossible to spin one wheel while the other remains stationary, and that's the only time the EDL comes into play.
The reason that people wanted to disable EDL back in my VR6 days was not because they were installing LSD's, but because some people believed that EDL contributed to the relatively common failure of the stock diff in the 02A transmissions used in those cars.

I loved it.
Must-have to get the power on the ground when the car is used like this:

No negatives to it at all, except the cost of installation. But that was somewhat mitigated by the fact that my tranny needed some work to begin with:

PS: We've strayed way off topic here.

Thanks for all the help guys, I think you're right in saying leave LSD enabled as pointed out its very unlikely to interfere
How do you find the LSD?
Deffo worth having, takes a bit of getting used to keeping the power down around corners and its more noticeable in the wet/snow/ice but you can still feel it in the dry, best way to describe it is like having torque steer and the car pulls you tighter into the corner
only problem is I'm leaking gearbox oil everywhere :(

you have esp, so I'd leave it alone. It's much more effective than ASR+EDL.
I've changed my abs controller coding from 0021505 to 0005121.
It makes the system a lot less aggressive, and wheel hop is less of a problem. There are guys on vortex saying it turns off EDL, and the binary logic behind it makes sense.
All I know is that mostly ASR (which is crap) doesn't bog nearly as badly now, and actually does the job its supposed to do.

eh?

How do you do that then? Is that fully disabled, or is it "turned-off" disabled?

eh?
since having the peloquin fitted I've been leaking oil on to the driveway but was unaware of it until my old man mentioned it to me, I thought it was from the gf's car.
Anyway I started taking notice and it's leaking from the nearside, friend of mine came over and took and its deffo gearbox oil :(
having my MAF changed tomorrow by the dealer so I'll play dumb and get them to check the oil leak as well, just hope it isn't to obvious that work has been done
