I've been thinking - if you stuck an intercooler onto the front of a normally aspirated car you would get cold(er) air in right?

seal the pipe to the inlet manifold and let the cold air flow?

I'm probably being daft as a cold air feed will do the job better

This is all tee'd off cos I saw an intercooler on ebay for £25!

Nope sorry, you will only be cooling abient temp air with an intercooler at ambient temp. Completely useless.

Got to agree with Tazkenny ~ intercooler is only used 'cos compressing air (with turbo) causes it to heat & expand (which undoes some of the job you've just done!)

Removing heat (post-compression) reduces this expansion....

If you aint heated it, you won't cool it.

there is a front mounted air filter available from blitz (i think) for civics it has a prespex cover so it don't get too shitty and gains are said to be huge for an air filter, and even more with the cover off ,BUT IT AIN'T 25 CHUFFING QUID M8
