Hello again all you ICE experts :D

Right - having successfully wired in a new head unit and speakers into my Elise, I have just received a powered Kenwood KSC WA62RC subwoofer which I purchased off Ebay on the advice of a chap on the Lotus forums. The thing is it doesn't have any wiring instructions, so being a novice at wiring car stereos I'm not sure what to do now...

The subwoofer has a white connector on it which sprouts four pairs of speaker wires (2 green, 2 purple, 2 white and 2 grey). It also has a black ground cable. Am I to assume that the sub gets its power from the speaker wires just like the normal speakers? There are no auxiliary power connectors or anything thats all

If this is correct do I just wire the sub up in series with the left and right speakers?

Thanks for your help (again)

Anybody? I'm a bit stuck here. I've managed to route the wires in the car, but the sub doesn't do anything. I can't work out why there don't seem to be any power connectors on the unit  Am I missing something? The unit I have is this one

http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/products/ListProduct.aspx?k1=2&k2=7&k3=54&pr=205

Like I say, the unit simple has a socket for the remote, two RCA line-in sockets, a switch to turn the remote on and off then a 10 pin socket marked POWER/SPEAKER INPUT. However the connector that plugs into it has only speaker wires and a black ground wire. No sign of (or indeed space for) the usual yellow and red power wires :help:

p.s. I've trawled the web for ages looking for a user guide for this unit, but none exist :(

Think you need to find someone with one to get a copy of the manual mate. That connector block should have a power wire it's just knowing which one it is.

Hmmm, i googled it & found out it appears to be a 2x30wat powered sub.
therefor there must be a way to power it up as anything with an onboard amp requires 12v power to drive it.
not the answer you were hoping for, but i did my best.

Hmm, I'm beginning to think that there's a wire missing from the connector block that plugs in to the sub. I think I'll go and get a new connector this week - thanks anyway :)
