Hi,

More newbee stuff. I have searched through all the old threads, and from what I can tell, the new ibiza 20VT cupra uses the same brake pads as the old 2L cupra? I need to know as the dealer I am buying Pagid pads from don't have the new cupra listed.

Yeah they are the same. Red Dot don't list my car, only the 20VT, but I have these on my 8v and they fit fine.

Never mind! :) I seached through old threads and came up with corrado G60 brakes (FR5051).

Thanks anyway ;)

Does the new cupra not have wear indicators?

Thats what I keep posting as part numbers.
spot on.

thicker pads compared to small 256mm disk'd models. Same backplate though.

19mm pad compared to mine which are 16mm , this is to compensate for the 22mm disc compared to 20mm on mine,
anyone got the cheapest place to buy the pagids ?not in a hurry so mail order is ok ,

Seat did change the pads for the 256mm brakes a few times,

93-96 (357 698 151A)
96-99 (357 698 151E)
99- (1HM 698 151)

Is there actually any difference? The callipers and disks stayed the same.

The original pads I took off from my Cupra 20vt looked like they were made from charcoal and steel.. !!

The compound looked sh*te.. far too many organics to be carbonised and very metallic. Not surprised they didn't bite well and squeeled like a stuck pig..

Y'all dissin the EBC Greens most of the time, and I agree that Pagids are maybe better for some, but I quite like my Greens and they are doing me a stirling job at the moment.. when they disappear into a cloud of dust after 5000 miles then I might change my mind.. but until then.. I am pretty pleased.. oh yeh.. AND THEY ARE GREEN..!! lmao.. red calipers and green pads.. hmmm.. don't quite look right, but gets attention.. :p
