Just buy a new Head Unit that can play MP3 discs.
It allows you to create a data disc where you can fit up to about 7-8 albumns on one cd.
No need for a cd changer. Hope this helps.

ok.. but can you get them wide like the default unit, or is it all the faffing around with fascia bits?
thanks!
Not Sure about the Toledo mate but on the Ibiza its just a straight swap.

IMO go for a changer. That way it can be mounted in the boot/glovebox or under the seat. keeps the car looking standard and the thieving gets recking your car trying to nick the HU.

it occurs to me that the only downside is the rather ltd display of the factory stereo..... but yeah - i did think like this too

Rob R - Did you go any further with this?
I'm thinking of sticking an MP3 changer in the glove box and found the same link as you to the relevant units. Did you get one? Have you installed it? How did you install it and how easy was it?
Cheers.
I've got a Pioneer HU that plays MP3's & CD's.
The standard HU in the Skoda is slighty bigger than a single DIN sized HU, but can buy facia adapters.
Not sure what sort of set up the Toledo has. The Standrd Hu in the Mk3 Ibiza I used to have was totally enlosed into the centre dash, so you couldn't replace it with an aftermarket one.
i haven't got further, no.. soz :) money etc etc
Just get a std size hu that plays mp3's then ditch the cd changer to free up glovebox room. Get a faceplate adaptor to make up the gap and job's a good un.
k mate :) cheaper i guess. recommendations anyone on a cheap but ok HU?
Do the MP3's have to be on CD? if not then I can highly recommend one of these: http://www.phatnoise.com/vw/
There £586 from a UK VW dealer but there's details on ukmivs.net of a US dealer that sells them for around £220 delivered.
