Ok I've done a search & discovered that I might be getting ripped off slightly, so wanted to get your thought please?

My cars due for it 2nd service, I spoken to a few dealers & the service seems to cover almost the same parts as the first service......

Oil change / Filter
Pollen or Air filter (depends on the dealer  )
Brakes checked
Fluids checked
Full vehicle check over

However the prices vary so much depending on which dealer you speak to.

Greyknight - I see, from my search ;) , you got your 2nd service for £129  WHERE FROM?

How much should a 2nd year service cost & what should be changed etc.?

So far I've been Quoted:

Colliers (Acocks Green)- £240 - Pollen Filter (will now price match All Electrics price.)
All Electric (Halesowen) - £180 - Air Filter
Barlows (Wolverhampton) - £228.28 Inc Vat both filter are checked & most likely replaced

As I sometimes work in Reading I checked out:

Emma Green - £260 - Pollen Filter :-o

I got my second one for about 180quid from Droitwich in the end. Not sure what was done but more than the first one I hope. Not problems really so far but they always say the brakes need changing regardless I think. Other thing is who your going to trust with your car for the day?? I'm going to be looking at the 4th one soon so I'm sure thats going to cost me a little more than I expect!

Nice one Neil - I don't think they do much different from the first service as far as I can tell.

That's why I seeking everyones else experiences.

Where is the place in Hereford? May try it myself if they'll do a good job and give me a courtasy car too. Just wish I could get it done elsewhere without affecting the warrenty or else I would take it to AMD or another such place for a once over.

Did any mention costs for a 40k service I'll need mine when it's on about 36k as the light always comes on early but I'm guessing it ain't gonna be cheap!

Even further from mine... but would give me an excuse to fill the boot with real Herefordshire cider, cheese and beef...   :hide:

Lol!

If we get enough people we could turn it into an SCN event 'Service Ya Car 'n' Fill Ya Boots!'

Pun totally intended ;)

Ayuh! Did the price of £149 include a courtesy car? Just wondering, 'cos one of the SEAT garages in Nottingham has just quoted me £215 for a 20K (pollen not air), which I'm due in about a thousand miles...

Ouch! :(

I live in Hereford, the dealer is superb!!! This month they have an offer on servicing, summat like 20% off, so get in quick. Courtesy car is given free of charge. The engineer that worked on your car will personally go through your bill with you and give you that personel touch ( no pun intended ). Mines an import and there was no problem with that either. Ask to speak to Richard Hustler (manager) and tell him you herd about them through seatcupra.net ;);)

Hmmmmmm According to mappy that's a 230 mile round trip and about £20 in diesel... Sounds good to me as I'll still be £45 better off... that can buy a lot of cider - or a dirty weekend - or both...

Have we got a contact number for this dealer?
