Possibly been covered before, but I couldn't find a definite answer to my Q through a search :
I see in the options list there's a sub/amp combo (sony xplod :rolleyes: ) available from the stealers, are there pre-outs on the standard head unit or do they wire them in with high level inputs? :confused:
I have my Alpine amp/sub out my last car and I'm desperate to up the sound quality but haven't had a chance to whip the head unit out yet.

The Sony crap is a "splice your wires" job.
I got one, brand new from my dealer for £45...looked at the wiring instructions, put it on eBay and made enough to buy a decent sub and amp.
there were no pre outs on the back of my headunit. The head unit is crap too, change it for your alpine stuff!

Oh well, there goes the colour co-ordinated dash, I had assumed the standard unit was blaupunkt but is it sony as well?

I have a Kenwood WV6027 headunit in mine and although in the day it sticks out a little bit (wont do when I get the interior brushed all trim from SEAT). At night it looks the part because you can adjust the colour of the display yourself, thus achieving a match with the cars interior illumination.
Just a pointer. Most Blaukpoint units apparantly fit in with the interior OK also.
As others said, standard headunit has no preout (or anything else of any use.. especially that speed relative volume- arrrg!)

Brushed Alu Dash? I seen it on the SEAT.com webshite but the friendly dealers tell me that you can't get it for RHD Cars...Do you know of somewhere that you can???
