I'm looking forward to getting hold of my TDi DSG in Emocion Red, and chewing over the extra bits I want.
From a practical point of view, mudflaps all round (hopefully will reduce the amount of muck accumulating on the tailgate) and headlight protectors.

I like the styling of the car, apart from the rear end.
Spotted this tailgate trim on the Seat website

http://www.seat.co.uk/generator/su/uk/altea/site/choices/accessories/main.html

It looks pretty neat on the photo, but does anyone know what it looks like in reality?
Is it decent quality, or likely to fade & tarnish?

Thanks.

I found this red one in Ireland. Presumably its the same manufacturer as the mirror covers I have got and they are good quality

Anybody else fancy a group buy on these and the front grille trim if the price is right??

Not sure about that chrome tailgate.... looks a bit too much like the chrome bits on the back of all the new vauxhalls

Given a little time with the altea even the backend starts to look okay. When I first got a Leon a lot of people went on about the backend of that i.e. the light clusters looking droopy.... but pretty much everybody has come round to that in the end :)

I would also save your money with the headlight protectors as the headlight lense's are plastic, they are as close to indestructable as you can get ( I believe made from the same plastic the old bill use for riot sheilds!). Now if they did protectors for the fog lights I would snap them up like a flash.... never understand why they persist in making the lenses out of glass still...

Bought the tailgate trim from my local dealer and put it on myself. Its just a piece of chromed plastic with self adhesive tape on the back and takes seconds to fit. Just make sure its in the right place. Not sure if its worth 30 quid though. Also got the smilie for the front grill but it seems to be bubbling up under the chrome so will be asking the dealer about that. They both look OK but thats probably because I like a little chrome on the car anyway.
