I own a 98/99 Cupra 2 - the front of the car is pretty dull, with no badges. I think Iv´e seen pics of Cupras with a red 2.0 16v or Cupra badge attached in the grill. stian.gundersen@portalen.no

Checked with my local dealer, he said that the part number you gave me was for the trunk of the 2000 Cupra 1.8T. I have 99 2.0 16V - before the face lift and with the old grill.

The only badge my dealer could find was a GTi 16V badge... That might do it for an Ibiza SX but not for my Cupra! :-)

HEEEEELP!!

Yup they are for the Trunk as you say http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif of a 1.8 Cupra. But ive seen plenty of older Mk2 Gti Cupra's with this badge on the front grille it looks really good.

My previous car an Ibiza 2.0Ltr 16v had the Gti16V on the front grille and the 8v versions just had Gti.

The Cupra's were no different from the GTi's other than interior Trim and lack of Sunroof, plus a few flashy differences like white wheels, carbon coding.

Ive seen loads of Cupra Mk2's and they all either have GTi16v or GTi on the front.

Thanks for quick response,
Is it possible to fit the badge for the 2000 Cupra in my grill?

I know theres not much difference between the Cupra and the Gti, but it says Cupra 2 on my doors and the back of the car. So I thought i would look better to "complete it". http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

We used a silicon based glue

Any good superglue will do it, just make sure you hold it on for 5-10 mins

The red "GTI 16V" badge goes for all 97-99 cupras and curpa2s. They can be simply snapped into the stock grill (no glueing or anything needed at all). It cost me ~2 GBP.

Problem solved - thanx for good tips! Sollution: New grill from JE-Design (www.je-design.de) and badge from the 2000 Cupra 1.8T. Total cost about £40 - well worth the money - think it will look good.

It now seems that I 'must' have one of these badges for my '99 Cupra. Any respectable dealers in the UK that can send one to Aus??
