I know in the forum lots of people have been complaining about this, and even one had their car replaced. But can anyone tell me, if they had their car delivered in 05, whether the dash rattle has been fixed.

My wife is a little anti, alright, a lot :( , about my purchase of the altea and the dash rattle would end in divorce as all I would hear is, 'I told you to by a renault'.

Thanks

As I jokingly mentioned the only rattle I got was when I put the car's manual into the glove box where the manual is designed to go in the grooves, and it rattled other than that it's completely silent at the front... one or two creaks from the sunshine roof cover from time to time:).

The only rattle I've had develop so far is from the small access panel on top of the steering column. It gets annoying on long journeys but I havent had chance to nip into the dealers to see what they can do about it yet.

Mine comes from the top passengers side of the dash like some others on here (and ones I've driven) but its not all that bad so will wait till the first service. It's small fry compared to the problems that can await those who opt for a Renault (and Peugeot 307's come to that!) as anyone who regularly reads Honest John (www.honestjohn.co.uk and every Saturday Telegraph) will know!

Hi Novco

I have a 04 Altea and yes I do have the glovebox rattle though lately it seems to have got better! only the bumpiest roads seem to set it off...... on the renault front my wife has just taken delivery of a new renault scenic and that has more creaks and rattles than all our Altea's put together

I'm sure you and the other half will be more than happy with the Altea certainly a better option than anything similar from our garlic swilling neighbours accross the pond :p

:)

I have to say, that my Laguna doesn't make a sound (Except when the Climate has the fans on Max and the heat is expanding some of the plastic make a 'pop' sound). One up to temp it fine. My previous scenic had a few rattles. But they were soon drowned out by then wind noise, when it finally got upto speed
