Hi guys...
Does anyone know who this install/conversion belongs too now?? And more imporant.. WHO DONE IT??? I need some advice on doing something similar in mine and need to know what to get rid of etc etc. I got a car pc to put in and wanna try and use that panel for the screen to be installed into ... possibly.
And details on the front page of sc.net?? Well.. I couldnt see them!! Any help guys??
Id much appreciate your help and advice guys.
Thanks
Baz
From what I can remember, its a aftermarket trim panel so you can get rid of the stock HU.
Produced in Spain IIRC, dunno on its availabilty tho.
An aftermarket trim panel?? Ahh ok.. I was kinda under the impression that it was done by someone in UK!!
I am talking about the smooth lines of the area at the sides of the screen there.... and not the stereo area install itself.
I need to find out how to get rid of the stereo buttons as im not going to be using them... got plans for a screen install there..... hopefully. depends on how hard it actually is!!
Any ideas guys??

It was done by someone in the UK. Thats Sauls old install. It took the comapny he got to do it for him a lot of time and effort. You just need a spare facia to play with. Bear in mind you will still need the screen in the car to be able to use the aircon controls. The stereo and air con controller are one integeral part in the ibiza.

as pete said ^ :D
it took about a long time to work out what was needed and a lot of fiddling about, you need all the screen and the pcb out of the metal box to work and power all the heater controls and console lighting.
i only did it cos i got a spare fascia and radio from a breakers at gti international for £20.

Did they no go into production with these?? Major gap in the market there!
i had an oe one cut and modified with fibre glass a plenty
there is/was a spanish co. offering a conversion but the HU sat above the screen from memory
Thanks guys..
Saul - did you do the converision yourself??
If so are there any details youcan pass to me?? I seriously wanna do this!! LOL..
I am going to try and locate a spare fascia from somewhere to work on, so at least I dont muck up my original panel just in case. If so, then brilliant..... just need to know what wires go where etc etc.
I am planning on moving the original a/c screen but not far at all, poss about between 5-10 inches below its original location.
I dont need the originaly stereo connections/buttons as am installing a car pc with a niec screen and wanna use that location. So the existing buttons are not needed, in which case the screen would sit there beautifully!!
Any more help guys??
Much appreciated so far...
Baz ;)

I have seen their site and some pics of the work they have done to the Ibiza panels. The stereo sits below the original a/c screen from what I can see.
I might contact them and see if they are prepared to do some work for me on this panel. Ideally if I can get some more information and poss some pics on how to do this... then I can do the work myself.
Im hoping that Saul being a womderful person would be very happy to help me with some information on how he did it!! ;)
LOL..
Baz

that would be Spain.... :p
some pics on my homepage <
I pretty mcuh did the same as the link, only extended the control gubbings cabling so it would go behind the dash to give me more room behind fascia.
The hardest part I found was getting to look OE. Filler and plastic don't go well together, prolly worth baring in mind if going down the paint route.

Cool... Sweet looking motor there mate. Very impressive. And excellent choice of ICE aswell.
I see that you have custom door builds too?? Any chance of pics?
The main thing I am worried about is the buttons along the screen.... where have they gone? What about the connections? Have they been discarded?? Disconnected?? Would the AC still work without them? How are they connected up now??
See... tooooooo many questions!! lol.. But id rather ask loads of questions and get the install perfect... Going to start that in the next few weeks.

PS.... this is my motor
